Basic Information About Our Cooperation

1. About me and ethical principles

In my work I follow and apply the Code of Ethics of the Slovak Chamber of Psychologists and the Code of Ethics of the Slovak Psychotherapeutic Society. I also comply with the Act on Psychological Practice and the Act on Personal Data Protection (GDPR)

I continuously maintain my professional competence, engage in further education and use professional supervision in line with the recommendations of professional bodies.

2. Nature of the services provided

Counselling is provided within the scope of activities of the company MMT Consulting, s.r.o., which is not a healthcare facility. The company is authorised in particular to provide: counselling related to business and personal development, educational and training activities, specialist counselling for jobseekers and applicants, and fee-based job placement services.

This is not healthcare within the meaning of the Act on Healthcare, nor is it clinical psychology or psychiatric treatment. If a health intervention is needed, I will refer you to an appropriate healthcare facility or specialist.

3. Length and form of cooperation

The length of our cooperation is agreed verbally and is flexible, depending on your needs and my professional assessment of whether the form of work I offer is suitable and helpful for you. At the beginning, we can agree on an approximate number of sessions (e.g. short-term cooperation or a long-term process) and adjust this agreement as we go, according to how things develop.

You can end counselling at any time. However, I prefer a mutual agreement on ending the process so we can close it safely and reflect on what you have gained.

If you are or become dissatisfied with the course or results of our cooperation, it is important that you let me know. We can then look together for a more suitable way of working or a referral to another professional.

4. Organisation of sessions

The duration of a standard session is 50 minutes. The session starts and ends at the agreed time. If you arrive late, the session will still end at the originally agreed time and it may not be possible to use the full 50 minutes. If you know you will be late, please inform me (via SMS/email/phone) and let me know approximately by how much.

Sessions take place online (video call / phone call) or in person, depending on current availability and offer. We will agree the specific form individually when you make your booking.

5. Contact between sessions

My email and phone are intended primarily for scheduling and rescheduling appointments and for brief organisational questions. I reply to messages during working hours as my schedule allows. I am not available 24/7 and I do not provide a crisis hotline or continuous emergency service.

If you would like another form of contact between sessions (e.g. sharing notes or materials), we can agree on this explicitly – including the scope and form.

6. Payment for counselling

Payment for counselling is made by cashless transfer – via bank transfer or card payment in advance. Current fees are listed in the price list on www.ivanacergetova.sk. After payment I can issue you a receipt. Your booking is considered confirmed only after the fee has been paid, unless we agree otherwise.

7. Cancellation or rescheduling of appointments

If you wish to cancel or reschedule a session, you need to do so no later than 48 hours in advance (at any time, including weekends). You can: use the booking system / form, or inform me via SMS, phone call, or email.

Late cancellation / no-show: If you cancel or reschedule less than 48 hours before the appointment, or if you do not attend the session, you will be charged 100% of the fee for the missed session.

Cancellation on my side: If I have to cancel a session less than 48 hours before the agreed time (except in cases of sudden illness or accident), your next session will be free of charge.

In cases of sudden illness, accident, or other extraordinary circumstances (on either side), we will proceed according to the principle of reasonableness and mutual agreement.

8. Confidentiality and its limits

Counselling is confidential within the boundaries set by the laws of the Slovak Republic and by ethical codes. The content of our sessions: is intended solely for you and me, may be discussed anonymously in my professional supervision, where no identifying client data are shared.

I may/must break confidentiality in the following cases: (1) if you inform me that you have committed or plan to commit a criminal offence, (2) if there is an immediate risk of serious harm to yourself or others, (3) if this is required by law or by a decision of a competent authority.

In such cases, I will – as far as possible and safe – inform you about the next steps.

Please keep in mind that communication via email, phone, video platforms or other online tools can never be 100% technically secure, even though I take appropriate measures to protect your data.

9. Personal data protection and documentation

Your personal data (name, surname, phone number, email, billing details) are processed: (1) solely for the purposes of mutual communication, organisation of sessions, and invoicing, (2) in accordance with the applicable legislation on personal data protection (GDPR and related regulations).

I keep only the minimum working documentation necessary (brief process notes), not medical records or diagnostic notes in the sense of a healthcare facility.

Details about personal data processing can be found in a separate Personal Data Protection / GDPR document, available on my website or on request.

10. Recording of sessions

Audio or video recording of counselling sessions is only possible based on prior agreement and the explicit consent of both parties.

Without my consent, it is not permitted to record the sessions (neither audio nor video). If we decide to record a session (for example for educational or reflective purposes), we will agree on: the scope of the recording, how it will be stored, how long it will be kept, and how it will be deleted.

11. Crisis situations

I do not provide a crisis hotline or emergency service and I cannot guarantee immediate availability outside of scheduled sessions. If you are in acute danger or at immediate risk to your life or health, please contact: the emergency number 112 (within the EU), or local crisis helplines and healthcare services in your country.

These services are equipped to handle urgent and safety-critical situations which individual counselling cannot replace.

12. Feedback and complaints

If anything arises in our cooperation that you are not satisfied with, I strongly encourage you to talk to me about it directly – this is an important and valuable part of the process. Together we can look for adjustments in the way we work, in our communication, or in the next steps.

If you feel that I have acted in violation of ethical principles or professional standards, you have the right to contact the relevant professional organisation (e.g. the Slovak Chamber of Psychologists or the Slovak Psychotherapeutic Society) and follow their procedures.

13. Confirmation of consent

By paying for the service and reserving a session, you confirm that: (1) you have read and understood this text, (2) you agree with the general terms and conditions, (3) you have been informed about the processing of your personal data (name, surname, phone number, and email) for the purposes of mutual communication.

Important note: If you book a session and make the payment, but you do not receive an email invitation to the session in your inbox immediately after booking, please contact me to verify your reservation at: ivana@radipsychologicka.sk.
